In Memory of little Juliana

Four year old Juliana Valentine McCourt boarded an airplane in Boston headed for Los Angeles along with her mother, Ruth.
Ruth had made plans to enjoy some spa pampering with Juliana's godmother, Paige.
While Ruth and Paige anticipated spa treatments, little Juliana was dreaming of meeting Mickey & Minnie Mouse.
Juliana enjoyed going online and playing Disney games, and now she was actually going to Disneyland!
Juliana is described as being a very feminine little girl who had favorite dresses she liked to wear.
Her godmother, Paige, was on another flight from Boston to CA because she was using her frequent flyer miles.
It seems almost impossible that both airplanes would be involved in the same attack; but that is what happened.
Paige's plane hit the north tower, and eighteen minutes later, Ruth and Juliana's plane crashed into the south tower.
I am participating in a tribute that honors each person lost in the Sept. 11th attacks.
Look at Juliana's precious face.

I didn't know this beautiful child, but I am saddened and angered by the loss of her.
Juliana should be nine now, and she, her mother, and godmother should be with their family and friends, enjoying life.
They are not.
Remember Juliana.

Thank you JD for taking on this hard task and honoring her memory. This story of the the family being on two different planes is heartbreaking. She is remembered for herself not just as a statistic. Always think of Juliana and remember.

Thank you also for coming by to my tribute for Gilbert and leaving a comment.

This is a sad story, as are so many who's lives ended on that day.
Yes they should all still be living and loving and laughing.
We will NOT forget them.

For some reason, I never even thought about the children who were in those planes.

And what an awful coincidence about her grandmother.

Beautiful tribute.

What does one say about a four year old child? There were a total of eight children who died that day, ranging in age from 2 to 11. I find it hard to understand why any of the 2996 had to die, but particularly those eight little kids. Whose enemies were they? How had they harmed anyone? How had they wronged anyone?

Thank you for remembering Juliana in such a touching way. We mustn't forget any of the victims from that day, but particularly those eight innocent babies.

And thanks for your words on my post about Ruth, Juliana's mom.

Great tribute JD. This lady looks a little like you I think.

I have been watching the things about 9/11 on TV. It was such a horrible tragedy. I pray it never happens again, but we never know with the hatred those people have for us.

So sad that her Godmother was on another ill-fated flight. Lovely mother and child. Sad. Thanks JD.

Thanks JD. I won't forget her.
I'll never forget the bastards that did this either, and those who follow them even now.
They are Muslim and they are extremists. They plan to kill us all. They deserve the very worst that life and the United States can dish out to them. We must prevail.

Great job. I was going to participate in 2996, but no matter how I tried to put my words around it, it ended up sounding like BS. I chickened out. I just didn't have a way to make it work with my particular, weird writing style. You've done a wonderful job.

Never, ever, ever again.

Oh my gosh - as others have said, it never even crossed my mind that there were children who died on that sad day. How eery, as well, about the separate flights both being involved. Thank you for introducing us to these very real people who lost their lives. I may not get to read every blog entry for each person, but I did read this one, and I will never forget. Thank you.

Thank you for this great post. Each time there is a big tragedy, I pick a victim to research and to give a human face and reality to the situation. For 9/11, Juliana Valentine was that person.

My own 2996 is on Valerie Silver Ellis and is available on my blog.
